On Wednesday 15th February 2012 at HCT. One student from CEC class had an interview with Mr. Hedley and two interviewers. The interview was practice for the student and it’s reflecting how the real one would be. Mr. Hedley selected some types of question that are used in real interviews.

Mr. Hedley, old Ahmed and new Ahmed were the interviewers. The first victim was Abdullah and he chose to be an electrical engineer for this interview. Of course Mr. Hedley started the interview by asking Abdullah to introduce himself and tell us about himself. Abdullah was fantastic, also very comfortable and he had fluent English language with Hedley. The second question from Hedley was “Why do you choose our company to work at?” The answer was good salary, facilities and working at HQ and in a factory.

Then Hedley handed the rest of the questions to old Ahmed. He asked Abdullah a few questions after welcoming him. His question was “Can you work under pressure?” Abdullah said “Yes” and also he give us some examples when he was at college. Abdullah also likes to work in a team, but he prefers to finish his work by himself.

After old Ahmed new Ahmed took the lead to ask Abdullah questions and he tried to trick Abdullah, but he was smart and answered most of the questions.

At the end the judge let Abdullah ask a question. He had only one question that was” What job is an electrical engineer doing?” Old Ahmed answered this one. The second question from Abdullah was “what is the difference between onshore and offshore?” Also old Ahmed answered this question and explained what the difference between them is and how much the difference in salary is.

The goal from this interview was to show the students what are interview looks like. Mr. Hedley gives the students some advice and tips that will help them to pass.
